Templates
Create message templates and get them approved by Meta.
Templates are pre-approved messages. You need one to start a conversation or to message someone outside the 24-hour window.
Create a template
- Open Templates and create a new one.
- Enter a name, then pick a category (Marketing, Utility or Authentication) and a language.
- Add an optional header (text, image, video or document), the body, an optional footer and buttons.
- Use variables like {{1}} and {{2}} in order, and give a sample value for each.
- Save it as a draft, or submit it to Meta for review.
Template status
- Pending: Meta is reviewing it.
- Approved: ready to send. Only approved templates can be sent.
- Rejected: fix it and submit again.
- Paused: Meta paused it.
Use Sync to get the latest status from Meta. Chatlyn also checks regularly by itself.
The name and language can't change after creation, so duplicate the template instead. If Meta moves a template to another category, you are told and broadcasts using it are paused, so you aren't charged an unexpected rate.
