WhatsApp Calling
Make and receive WhatsApp voice calls in your browser.
Calling lets your team talk to customers on WhatsApp from the browser. It's a paid add-on, included on Enterprise. Set it up in the Calling tab of Settings.
Incoming calls
Everyone who can see the chat and take calls hears it ring. The first person to click Answer gets the call, and it stops ringing for the others. Incoming calls are free.
Outgoing calls
- Open the chat and click Call in the header.
- If the customer hasn't allowed calls yet, send a permission request with Ask permission while the 24-hour window is open.
- Once the customer taps Allow, you can call them for the next 7 days.
Outgoing calls use credits and are billed in 6-second pulses. Credits for 5 minutes are held when a call starts, and whatever isn't used goes back to your balance. A call ends if your credits run out.
A number also used on the WhatsApp Business app (coexistence) can't use calling. Business calls aren't allowed by Meta to some countries, including the US and Canada.
